The traditional method of education assumes that students learn “on average”, which means that the level of instruction that is designed is done so keeping in mind learning abilities of a majority of the class. This means, you start from the beginning of a topic and work on through to the end of the material at a certain pace and level of detail. If a student gets stuck on a concept in the middle, he or she will likely fall behind and struggle to catch up.
